5 It's A Bonny Old Life Episodes to Get You Feeling Inspired - Bonny Snowdon Academy
It’s been nearly six months since I released the first episode of my podcast, It’s A Bonny Old Life, and, in that time, I’ve had the joy of speaking to some incredibly inspiring people each week. In this blog, I wanted to share a handful of those episodes that will help to brighten your day, get you feeling motivated and full of positivity, and most importantly, feeling inspired!

Susie Pearl, Coach, Writer and Author of The Art of Creativity

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Susie for quite some time now, and to say she has had a positive impact on my life would be a massive understatement.

In the episode, Susie talks about her fascinating life, taking us through the decisions that took her from running a successful PR company in London working for A-list celebrities, to packing her bags and opting for a quieter life living on a farm. She shares her thoughts on being diagnosed with brain cancer, and the ways in which being told she only had three weeks left to live changed her life for the better. We also discuss kindness, creativity and the benefits of coaching, amongst many other things.

This episode is one of my favourites, and it’s sure to give you a boost of motivation and leave you feeling inspired. To listen to Susie’s episode, click here.

Sema Martin, Pet Portrait Artist, Author and Art Business Guru

In this episode, I was joined by another fabulously inspiring woman, Sema Martin. She shares the story of how she went from working as an aerospace engineer at Nasa, to become a full-time pet portrait artist who now helps other artists grow their businesses.

We talk about the starving artist myth, discuss business and the benefit of niching down and delegating work, and talk about what life is like as a new, working mum.

Sema has such a fabulous outlook on life, art and business, and is a real inspiration to coloured pencil artists. To listen to the episode, click here.

Tazi Brown, Wildlife Photographer

Not only is Tazi Brown an incredible wildlife photographer, she also has an amazing story of resilience to tell. After an accident left her with post-concussion syndrome, Tazi was forced to make changes to her daily life. In the episode, she talks about her inspiring approach to life after the accident, explaining the changes she has made to allow her to continue doing what she loves.

She’s an amazing example of someone who won’t let anything stand in the way of doing what they love, and we all have a lot to learn from her. To listen to this episode, click here

Victoria Scotti, Equine Artist and Art Therapist

I’ve admired Victoria Scotti’s artwork from afar for quite a while now, so I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to sit down and chat with her, and even more thrilled when I discovered that we have an amazing connection and share many of the same beliefs.

In the episode, Victoria shares the surprising story of how she decided that becoming an equine artist, after working previously as an art therapist, was the only option for her. She talks about why she believes that everything an artist draws is an exploration of themselves, and the importance of figuring out what our artwork says about us.

Victoria has such a unique way of looking at the world and artwork; it really makes you think about things in a new way! To listen to the episode, click here.

Jessica-Liz, Pet Portrait Artist

Jessica is the youngest guest to have joined me on my podcast, but what she lacks in years, she certainly makes up for in charm, passion and personality! She is such an impressive young artist with an incredible story to share.

In the episode, she talks about her struggle with a lack of support while studying art, details of how she discovered coloured pencils and shares the exciting story of how she was commissioned for a piece that would be gifted to Hilary Clinton. She also gives advice that is so heartfelt and insightful and offers words of support to those struggling with their mental health and confidence that are really worth hearing.

This is an episode that you definitely don’t want to miss. Jessica is so upbeat that you can’t help but smile! To listen to her episode, click here.
